What size do your products stretch out to become?
The size stated in the product description is the size that the product will stretch to become. When your product arrives in the mail un-stretched, it will be approximately 25% smaller than the size you ordered. When you perform your installation, it will stretch to become the size you ordered. We call this the “comfortable stretched dimension.” It does not require considerable force or tension to complete an installation. Simply apply enough tension to ensure that the fabric is not loose or floppy. Products may be stretched +/-10% of the size stated on our website.
We are a made-to-order company with our own manufacturing facility here in the USA. The Stretch Shapes production team is ready and eager to provide you with any size product that you need. We price custom orders by the square foot with no additional charge for customization. Please see our custom orders page for additional details.
IFR (Inherently Flame Retardant)
IFR Trapeze Plus® stretch fabric passes NFPA 701, CSFM Title 19, and ASTM E84 standards (certificates can be provided upon request). IFR means that the fabric has been woven to yield a product that meets flame safe fire standards, without being subjected to any special processing or post production chemical treatment. IFR Trapeze Plus® will remain flame retardant for its lifetime, even after repeat washing.
We exclusively use 5.9oz IFR Trapeze Plus® 4-way stretch fabric to create all of our stock products. Please see our Trapeze Plus web page for details about this fabric.
IFR Trapeze Plus® comes in bright white plus an assortment of up to date colors, each with a brilliant satin sheen finish. Check out our color chart for a list of the colors we offer. If you’re not seeing the color you need, contact us and we’ll source it for you if available. We also offer dye-sublimation printing. With dye sublimation printing, we are able to add any graphic, logo, or solid Pantone color (PMS) to your Stretch Shapes product.
What is the difference between Stretch Projection Screens and Flat Panels?
Our Stretch Projection Screens are made from the same Trapeze Plus stretch fabric as our Flat Panel Sails. The difference is the size. Screens are engineered to specifically fit a projected image of 5:4, 4:3, or 16:9 aspect ratios. This means that it will properly fit the rectangular image of your projector without having unsightly gaps around the borders. We also use larger grommet holes on the rigging points of our projection screens to allow ball bungees to pass through for mounting.
What size image fits on our Projection Screens?
Stretch projection screens curve in along the borders, in between rigging points, reducing the projectable area of the screen. To determine the projected image size of your screen, there is a projection size allowance chart in the picture menu of each projection screen product page. Please keep in mind, products may be stretched +/-10% of the size stated on our website, which may add or subtract from your projection area. We can also email you a PDF of this chart upon request.
How do I install the products?
All products ship with recommended installation instructions that give a variety of setup suggestions. The most common way to install a flat panel or background is with invisible monofilament line. This line can be tied to the rigging points of each corner and then tensioned. You will need to find or make anchor points to attach the monofilament line to for rigging. These must be strong enough to hold the tension of your product (not very much tension). Our stretch projection screens and panel wall systems are designed to mount on the frame of your choosing. We suggest triangle truss, box truss, pipe and drape frames, or a permanently installed frame of metal or wood. For other rigging options, reach out to one of our sales people to discuss. Stretch screens are traditionally rigged with optional ball bungees that go through each grommet and attach directly to a truss or frame. Tie line, monofilament line, and Bannabungees are great alternatives. All of these additional options can be found on the accessories page.Panel wall tile systems are best mounted with zip ties or tie line, which can also be found on the accessories page.
Do you provide the mounting hardware?
We only provide the rigging material you will need to rig your product. This varies by product and is listed in the description of each product.
What is the difference between standard and low profile corners?
Standard corners are made from a sewn on, double thick webbing tab finished with a white grommet (black for colored products). Standard corners are very easy to work with and very durable. They can be setup and taken down regularly. Low profile corners are made from 3-plies of the same fabric (5.9oz IFR Trapeze Plus®) sewn into a discrete and durable fabric loop without a grommet or webbing. Low profile corners are an elegant alternative, and are suggested for permanent installations.
Yes, we do print on our products. We offer a wide range of dye sublimation printing options. Please contact us for more information.
