The Green Cube

Venue: Downtown Toronto, Canada
Services Provided: Custom metal fabrication, printed stretch fabric, rush order
Client: Manulife

This was such an amazing project to see through fruition. Manulife is a leading Canada-based insurance company and financial service provider. Their goal was to create an artistic piece that would be large enough to reveal an art installation in downtown Toronto, Canada. There was one small issue though. It needed to be done in less than two weeks! When you work in the live event industry, you grow accustomed to quick turn-around times, but this was going to be tough.

The challenge was to create a giant cube that was 30’ by 30’ and nearly 20’ tall at its highest point, that was mobile. In about ten days, Stretch Shapes was able to build a custom frame from aluminum square tubing, design and print the entire fabric using dye-sublimation printing that color matched Manulife’s brand and image, sew it all together to match perfectly and ship it to them, in Canada… all by the deadline. The result? A completely mobile (via the installed caster rollers), massive cube, with removable walls, that was able to open up and showcase the centerpiece of Manulife’s Vitality launch.
